Planting, May 27, 2009

Yes, it's that time again, guys! We will be meeting at spaces 137, 138 in the Zumbro community gardens on Wednesday afternoon to put in our garden. We have a variety of vegetables this year, including the delicious plum tomatoes shown above, San Marzano, that we started from seeds in the classroom. Other plants from our classroom are Homestead heritage tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, and the MOST beautiful Asian cucumbers. We will add homemade seed tapes of corn, sugar snap peas, black-eyed peas, and bush beans. Add to that three kinds of potatoes--Yukon Gold, Russett and red; onions and some seed tapes of lettuce (purchased) and variety lettuce, to name a few. Come out and join us--more hands make less work! We should try to get started at about 5:30-6:00. If you need a ride, let us know. See you there.
