Let's pick and weed!

Our garden is starting to have some ripe vegetables, like cucumbers, that we need to pick. We will try to meet on Saturday, August 22, at 11 a.m. Be prepared to take some produce home to share with your families. See you there.

Wet garden spot--weeding on Saturday, July 25

UPDATE: Saturday morning, August 1 9:01 a.m:
Sheesh! Will this rain ever stop! Muddy again, and tired of ruining shoes and hosing off for hours after working, so let's wait for some nicer sunny time. Check back again on Wednesday, August 5. Please feel free to stop at the garden any time, though, to pull a few weeds! See you!

Let's get together on Saturday morning, July 25 at about 11 a.m. We really need to weed, and depending on the weather in the next few days, maybe water again, but probably not. Also, a deer damaged our fence and broke a couple of fence posts off, so we will have to replace them, too.

Watering today, Wednesday, July 15

The garden is getting dry, so we will be watering today. We need help to get it done quickly. We will meet out at the garden between 5:30-6 p.m. See you there. Call if you need a ride.

Wednesday, July 8--Mini-planting and watering

UPDATE--Due to the nice rain today (Tuesday), we'll wait until Saturday morning to work. We were able to get the pepper plants in the garden during the weekend, so all that's left is the onion sets. We'll meet at about 10:00-10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, and we'll cook some hot dogs for a snack. See you then, and remember to call if you need a ride.
We were able to find some cheap leftover pepper plants at local garden shops, so we can add them to our patch this week, along with a few extra rows of onions. Welcome, summer school students! Let Ms. Yetterboe know if you'd like to help this Wednesday. We'll start getting out there from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. See you there!

July 1 Water and Weed. . .

Water and weed--Wednesday, July 1

Let's get together on Wednesday afternoon/evening for watering and weeding. We'll meet at the garden between 5:30 and 6 p.m. The plants are doing great, but the weeds are getting HUGE! Probably need water by then, too, if it doesn't rain before Wednesday (which it doesn't look like it will.) Make sure to call before 5:30 if you need a ride.
